Master Production Scheduler
Torrance, CA

Primary responsibility will be to oversee and coordinate the scheduling of the manufacturing floor of materials and product flow through the manufacturing process. Coordinate data from the Planners from all departments in order to meet customer delivery requirements efficiently; schedule and expedite production orders, communicate production plans and schedules, control and monitor possible bottleneck constraints in the production process.

  • Supervise and coordinate with production planners and IPT teams all materials for the manufacturing needs including expediting and meeting customer schedules
  • Performs work order variance analysis and review MRP execution and ensures accuracy of information, reconciles supply and demand, validates master scheduling requirements
  • Analyzes usage data, stock levels to order parts to satisfy service levels, maintain inventory levels per plan and expedites shortages and forecast spare parts needs
  • Perform capacity projection, planning and analysis and forecast demand
  • Responsible for inventory control, stock planning and cycle counts
  • Identify, negotiate and resolve conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order promise integrity
  • Maintain scheduling parameters such as lead times, lot sizes and cycle times
  • Works with engineers and IPT teams to manage materials for special engineering projects

  • Job Requirements:
  • BS degree required, Masters preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial manufacturing capacity - aerospace manufacturing highly preferred.
  • Previous management experience with managing planners and schedulers.
  • Must have background in electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Work knowledgeable in planning, input/output control, product structures, bill of materials, routings, demand management, stockroom, EOQ, purchasing and actual accounting systems.
  • Experienced with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kanban, JIT manufacturing principles.
  • Requires strong ERP systems background such as SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards. Experience implementing ERP system is a big plus.
  • Experienced with computerized MRP/ERP system Baan a plus.
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative and cross functional team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with shop floor employees, management and customers.
  • APICS CPM Certification preferred
